English Premier League- Some Shocking Moments

There are always shocking moments in the English Premiership League. Some of them have been captured below.

David Busst injury

In a match between Coventry City and Manchester United in 1996, Bust collided with Man U players Brian McClair and Denis Irwin which resulted in extensive compound fractures to both the tibia and fibula of his right leg. The English Premiership League is yet to see such horrific injury that led Man U keeper Peter Schmeichel vomit on the pitch. That was the end of Busst’s playing career but he served with Coventry City as Director of Football.

Kieron Dyer & Lee Bowyer fight on the pitch

Both players fought during Newcastle’s 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa in 2005. Later, they appeared after the game with manager Graeme Souness in a press conference where they apologized for their behavior but obviously did not apologize to each other.

Robbie Fowler white line celebration

After scoring for Liverpool in the Merseyside derby against Everton, Fowler used the white line of the penalty area to simulate snorting cocaine as his goal celebration. This was in reference to the accusations of drug abuse from a faction of Everton fans. Fowler ended up with a £60,000 club fine and a 4 match ban for his antics.

Adebayor goal celebration

Adebayor after moving from Arsenal to Manchester City played for the first time against his former club at the City of Manchester Stadium. This was at the start of the 2009-2010 season. Man City beat Arsenal 4-2. Adebayor after scoring his goal ran to the away end full of Arsenal fans and goaded them with his celebrations.

Campbell going to Arsenal

Tottenham’s club captain and defender played a very big role with the club during the 1990’s, in 2001 he got a contract that would have made him the highest paid player in the club’s history but Camplel decided to move to arch rival Arsenal on a free transfer. Spurs fans still see him as a betrayer 10 years after while he is still regarded as one of the biggest traitors in the English Premiership League history.
